Francisco San Martin, a talented actor celebrated for his roles in iconic television series, has passed away at the age of 39. The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office confirmed his death by suicide, which occurred at his Los Angeles home on January 16, 2025.
Born on August 27, 1985, in Mallorca, Spain, San Martin spent part of his childhood in Montana, USA. He began his acting journey in Spain and later moved to Los Angeles to pursue opportunities in the American entertainment industry.
San Martin gained prominence for portraying Dario Hernandez on the long-running NBC/Peacock soap opera Days of Our Lives from 2010 to 2011. His career also included memorable roles in The Bold and the Beautiful as Mateo, an estate manager, in 2017, and in Jane the Virgin, where he played Fabian Regalo del Cielo, a romantic interest for the show’s protagonist.
His film work included a role in the 2013 biographical film Behind the Candelabra. San Martin also appeared in several short films, such as A Love Story, Hotter Up Close, and Dot, with the latter marking his final credited performance in 2022.
