Karan Brar and Josie Totah Address Dating Rumors After Viral TikTok Moment
Former Jessie co-stars Karan Brar and Josie Totah found themselves at the center of dating rumors after a playful TikTok video went viral. The clip showed Brar wrapping his arms around Totah from behind before she leaned in for a kiss. Fans quickly speculated about their relationship status, with the video sparking widespread excitement and debate online.
Both actors, however, were quick to clarify that the moment was purely lighthearted and not an indication of a romantic relationship.
Totah, who came out as transgender in 2018, addressed the situation in a follow-up TikTok video. Laughing off the speculation, she repeatedly said, "It was a joke," and captioned the post, "We are two platonic best friends who danced a little too close to the sun."
Brar echoed her sentiments on Instagram Stories, writing, "It was a joke 😭," and jokingly adding that they "didn't mean to gaslight" the internet.
Despite their explanations, fan reactions remained mixed. Some believed the chemistry in the video looked genuine, with one commenter saying, "That did not look like a joke." Others expressed disappointment, writing, "You can't joke like that because now I'm heartbroken."
Brar and Totah starred together on Disney Channel's Jessie from 2011 to 2015. Totah joined the show in 2013 as Stuart Wooten, a recurring character with a crush on Skai Jackson’s Zuri Ross, while Brar played Ravi Ross, Zuri's older brother cared for by the titular babysitter, Jessie.
The viral moment brought nostalgic memories for fans of the show, though both actors have emphasized that their relationship remains strictly platonic.
